Using the Recommended Maintenance Assistant
The Recommended Maintenance Assistant automatically looks up milestone service recommendations, standard flat-rate labor estimates, and required parts based on the vehicle's year, make, model, engine, and current odometer reading.
How to Use It:
- Open or Create a Work Order: Select the customer and vehicle, then enter the current Odometer reading.
- Open the Drawer: Click the Recommended Maintenance button located next to the Vehicle details on the work order header.
- Review Suggested Services: The slide-out drawer displays factory maintenance items, categorized by service urgency (Routine, Inspection, Safety), along with estimated labor hours and required parts/fluids.
- Add to Work Order: Click + Add to Order on any service item. Bay Boss automatically:
- Creates a new Job on the Work Order with the service title.
- Adds the corresponding Labor line item with estimated flat-rate hours.
- Adds placeholder Parts line items ready for in-stock catalog linking or PartsTech ordering.
- Adjust & Finalize: Modify labor rates, assign technicians, or update part pricing directly from the work order as needed.
