Using the Notifications in Bay Boss

Learn how to send and view notifications in Bay Boss

The Notifications center allows for shared communication within your shop on status updates and important information that helps your shop run more smoothly.

Viewing Status Notifications

All notifications you have been sent or subscribed to appear in the Notification Center at the top of the page. When you have a new notification that hasn’t been read, a number appears in a red circle next to the Notification icon. The number corresponds to the number of unread messages you have received.

To view any messages, click on the Notifications (bell) icon and the Notification center will appear.

There are tabs for Unread Notifications (default) and Read. Once you click on a Notification, if there is a record associated with it (example a Work Order Communication has been received) you will be taken to that Work Order and the Notification will be marked as Read.

All the Read notifications can be moved back to the Unread tab by clicking on the icon to the right of the message when viewing the Read Tab.

Sending Direct Messages

Direct Messages you have received also appear in the Notification center, but there is a different way to create these. To the left of the Notifications (bell) icon, there is a Message icon. To send a Direct Message to anyone, click on the Message icon and type your message in the field.

Then select the person to send the message to.

Note: Only current users who have the Internal Message notification type enabled on their profile will appear in this list.

Once you press “Send Message”, the user selected will receive the notification.
