How do I add a new Vehicle to a customer?

Learn the options you have for adding vehicles to customers in Bay Boss.

There are multiple ways to add a new vehicle to a customer in Bay Boss giving you and your users more flexibility in how you use the system.

Add vehicle from Customer List Page

On the Customer List page that displays all your shop’s customers, you can add a new vehicle to any customer by clicking on the Vehicle icon on each customer’s row.

Clicking this icon will open the customer’s vehicles sidebar. From here you can add a new vehicle by entering the vehicle information directly into the form fields, or by using our VIN lookup tool.

You can also see all the current vehicles for the selected customer by clicking on the “Vehicle List” tab at the top of the sidebar.

Clicking on any vehicle will open up the vehicle popup and you can edit any details for that vehicle directly.

Add vehicle from Customer Information Page

From the Customer Information page - accessed by clicking on the Pencil icon to the left of any customer’s name, you can view/add/edit vehicles by clicking on the Vehicles tab at the top of the Customer Information page. To add a new vehicle, click on the “Add Vehicle” button at the top right of this page and the process is the same.

Add vehicle from Work Order

Vehicle - This is the Customer’s vehicle you are working on for this work order.

  • Adding a new Vehicle to the customer - Once a customer is selected, their vehicles are displayed in the Vehicle dropdown. If this is a new customer or you are working on a new vehicle that’s not in the system yet, click the grey button to the right of the vehicle selector. This will open the Add new vehicle sidebar.

  • VIN Lookup - Bay Boss includes a free VIN Lookup tool that allows you to enter the vehicle’s VIN and we populate the year, make, model and trim for the vehicle for you. Optionally, you can enter everything in manually. To use the VIN Lookup, enter the vehicle VIN and then click the Orange button to the right of the VIN. Details will be auto populated.
