How can I lookup vehicle information from VIN?

Bay Boss includes VIN Lookup to capture accurate vehicle information for your system and ordering parts. There are two ways to use VIN lookup within Bay Boss

To add a new vehicle into a Work Order or Estimate, first select an existing customer or enter a new customer using the Add New Customer feature. Once a customer is attached to the Work Order or Estimate, you can easily add a new vehicle or select an existing vehicle linked to the customer.

To add a new vehicle, click on the vehicle icon to the right of the vehicle drop down. This will open the Manage Vehicles sidebar. Add new Vehicle is the first option and selected tab. If you have the VIN written down, you can manually type it into the VIN field on the form. Once that field is populated, you will see the orange VIN lookup button appear. Click that and the VIN lookup will run on the VIN you have entered. The returned data will populate for the customer’s new vehicle.

If you want to take a photo of the VIN plate, click on the blue camera icon. A pop up will open allowing you to either upload a saved image or if you are using a tablet, take an image with the camera on your device. Once the image has been selected, click on the blue Lookup Vehicle button.
